Hello all,
So after putting some serious thought into it I have decided to make a change to our schedule again, It was worth trying to do mid week streams but testing has been unsuccessful. For this we are modifying our stream schedule to Saturday evenings, Sundays and Mondays. Mid week streams may still happen, but will not be a part of the standard stream schedule, This change is effective as of immediately. We have also been looking at trying different genre of game play, TwitchRP with ATLAS for example, as a way to kind of expand our footprint, and will be looking at other things that we can do different / trying in the near future. If something isn't working properly, we love feedback, so let me know. For anyone not in our discord, we would recommend joining for the most up to day information about the streams / youtube. Either way thats about all, Till next time. DFTBA -DJ So we are going to be making some changes to how we run our twitch
Schedule Fridays - Stream start 8:30pm this will be the shortest stream of the week. This is just to have some fun to lead into the weekend Sat / Sun - Stream start 1:30pm. The streams on this day are aimed to be between 5-6 hours in length, depending on how the game played is going these streams will probably be in 2 games. This is gauged on feeling in the stream at the time. Games: Anything, as a variety streamer I will play the games that I most enjoy, but at the time of this video going from Sky Factory, Overwatch, American Truck Sim. But really whatever I’m grooving I’ll play. Tips Tips are always greatly appreciated, but I will be changing how these work. So tips that are currently made are invested back into the channel to cover costs for Geekfuel’s. Starting from Jan 2018 20% of all tips are going to go to a charity for that month. This way we can help more people during the year. This shouldn’t effect the big charity event next year, more information on that later Highlights: I’m very happy with how the October highlights came out, and if you think of any clips that should be in there, if you see it live, CLIP it. If you are watching the VOD archive then check time link in the comments. ======THIS POST HAS BEEN EDITED SINCE ORIGINAL POST, SEE EDIT BELOW======
So as a lot of you may or may not be aware every year in October we have done a live stream to raise money for the New Zealand Breast Cancer Foundation in the past 2 years, So whats happening this year? Well as I am still in the whole, getting used to it stage in my job I really didn't want to commit to completing the stream as I would normal, as I was still getting into the habits and having a better understanding on how the day to day work flow is going to be. Now I am over that and am ready to complete an other Charity stream and this year going to raise money for a different charity. This year I am looking at raising money for Youthline, though this is yet to be fully finalized. If you don't know who or what youthline is I would highly recommend taking a look at their website http://youthline.co.nz But here is a quick snippet from their website Youthline works with people from all walks of life, from all cultures (we even take calls and TXTs direct from the Cook Islands!) and with all sorts of things going on in their lives. This can be anything from just wanting to talk something through (big or small, via TXT, email or phone), to working face to face with a young person or even their whole family. They do so much cool stuff for young people, even I have been able to take advantages of some of their services over the years. Much like last year the goal will be $500 NZD and stream runtime is looking at 24 hours, who knows I might actually be able to do it this year. (high hopes) Also like last year if the goal is reached then I guess I'll do something as well, maybe just the same as last year, who knows, that will be a bridge to cross if / when we get there. Again the first and last (If I make it to the 24 hours) will be streamed to our YouTube channel (youtube.com/theshownz) along site the full 24 hours to be streamed to twitch. (twitch.tv/theshownz) Games. Really for this I am going to go with the flow on this one, though might stay away from overly violent games, maybe ;), keep an eye out for more updates on that tom come. So when is this all going to go down? At this stage looking at 18 - 19 Nov 17 from 12pm - 12pm. Again to be confirmed. Keep an eye on the facebook page and if there is going to be any major updates a new post will be made to this blog. Otherwise Thanks for reading. And DFTBA (Don't Forget To Be Awesome) -DJ ===========================EDIT 06/11============================== So those people following the event on facebook would have noticed that the date has been change and shorted. This is due to that I am not happy with how I am and am not willing to take the risk doing a full 24 hours. So at this stage Stream Date: December 16th 2017 Starting 01:30pm - 01:30am Goal: $250 for Youthline So I am fully halving the stream and the stream goals for this stream. I hope you all understand. -DJ Hello, So on the 18th of this month (October) we are going to be doing a 12 hour live stream to raise money for the Breast Cancer Foundation of New Zealand.
The Stream will commence at 9am and finish around 9 pm and will be streamed to our twitch account (/theshownz) with highlights to be posted to our YouTube channel during the following weeks. Our goal is to raise $1000NZD. If we are successful Daryl has a plan in mind to do something crazy with his hair, which may include it changing colour ;) 100% of money raised will be donated. How can you donate: We have 5 ways that you can donate.
You may start donating from today 12/10/2015 with the final time for donations to count towards our goal will be 11:59:59pm on Saturday 31st October 2015. Any donations made before the stream start will be thanked on stream commence. All donations made after the event there will be a video made on Nov 1 that will be publicly posted at YouTube.com/theshownz thanking you for your contrubution . That video will also include the final amount to be donated to the Breast Cancer Foundation. The following is a rough plan for the stream and may change at any time between now (12/10) and stream date, as games may be deemed unsuitable for the purpose of the stream. Times are an approximation only Start 9am Introduction, How to donate, allow people to join 0915: Kerbal Space Program, Too the Mun and Back estimated time 45mins – 1 hour 1000: ish RUSH 20 – 30 mins 1030: Portal Stories MEL 1 hour 1130: World of Goo OR NB Unboxing* Provided Arrived 1200: Thomas Was Alone pre-recorded video (Lunch) 1230: The Stanley Parable 1315: Mitos.is 1400: 5 hour recap / status update 1410: Classic PS1 Games (Crash Bandicoot 2) 1500: Solo Minecraft (Setup Maze?) 1630: Race the Sun OR LC unboxing * Provided Arrived 1700: 8 Hour Recap 1710: Edge 1730: ESJ PG OR Jackbox Party Pack ½ 1815: F1 Pre Recorded (Dinner) 1845: Grid Autosport (Bathurst of course) 1945: Euro Truck Simulator 2: Corner to Corner 2100: End of stream. Extra Games is less time taken: Sims 4 Little Inferno World Of Goo* Race The Sun* The reason there are a couple of pre-recorded parts there is so when I am having a break there is still something happening in order to keep you the audience engaged. Throughout the stream a secret number will be placed on the donation amount which if guessed correctly will prompt a special sound and animation to display provided the person donates through twitch alerts. We do wish you can join us for this stream, it definitely is going to be a learning curve for me and will hopefully mean I will be able to do something like this in the future. If you have any questions about anything here feel free to ask either by commenting on this blog post or by using the contact us page. Otherwise I will see you on the 18th at 9am at twitch.tv/theshownz Wish me luck :D -DJ So.. I have failed my quest to defluff, in saying that I am yet to give up, and I have been thinking why I gave up. I also believe going it alone was basically made it destined for failure The first of many things was I was too enthusiastic and under prepared to do it, I think a little more mental prep could have helped. Two I was far to giving on what I was eating and how much I was eating of it. Three I seemed to make excuses for not either not doing exercise or eating crap. Four, and I feel as though this is one of the more compelling reasons, and you may say what you like about it, but I didn't care.... I felt as though there was no point. Don't get me wrong I really want to get healthy, But right now I feel as thought there is no point, I have very little self respect, therefore I have not want to help this body, because I hate it. I know that losing some weight will help me regain some of that self respect but its getting that which will be the toughest.
Trust me I am trying but there is just that part of me that is like whats the point... And that sucks..... So now begins the mental part of the 2nd take of defluffization, embracing who I am and beginning to show myself the respect that I deserve, from there I can work on the removal of the Kilos. I hope you all understand Thanks for reading -DJ Hello all, Daryl here. So you may have noticed that has been a few days since I last uploaded a video, which for participating in something called video every day august isn’t very good. So I have decided to write this blog post just talking about a few things.
So this week marks one year since I left my old job and also one year since I moved out of home and to Auckland so I was feeling pretty down about that as I do miss my family and the friends that I have in Tauranga. When I am not feeling 100% on the happiness scale I usually try and stay away from a camera as I would have to force energy and happiness and I always feel it is very obvious to others that I am not happy. And that’s not something that I want to show on the channel. I also become more cynical about what I am recording and I seem to really just hate everything that I record, or I am unhappy with the way something is edited or I can’t get it looking the way that I want it to, therefore it all get deleted and forgotten. I also seem to find it hard to think of videos to shoot as well, which is really weird, I would just end up sitting in front of the camera for ages thinking then just giving up. Another thing that hasn’t helped is because I was feeling like shit I ended up giving up on Defluffization which lead to a rather vicious cycle. Now that all that has passed I hope to get back into making videos daily for the next few weeks and I’ll try and make up for the videos that I have missed over the past week. Thanks for reading -DJ Greetings all,
Now that I have much faster internet I have been very much inspired to kick The Show back into life and to introduce some cool new things that will hopefully stay around for the long term. Let's Talk is one of them. So the idea behind Let's talk was I wanted to do a live show and couldn't think of what to put in it. Therefore let's talk will just be totally randomised topics. We could talk about Doctor Who, Books, Other TV programs that are out. We may also talk about politics, like in this days episode where I talked about Same sex marriage and My view on the changing of the NZ flag. That's all from me for now Thanks for reading -DJ Well to be perfectly honest, I have no Idea.
Needless to say we are going to try and utilize what we have set up, like getting back and producing podcasts, which have been lacking for the last few months. Which is a bit of a whoopsie on Daryl's part. So we are hoping to get everything back on schedule and getting videos and podcasts out to the public for you all to enjoy. Which we hope that you do. Thanks for reading -DJ Hello all and welcome to our first blog post here at theshownz.weebly.com. What are we gonna do here, well who knows, we may use it to expand on the videos that we do, we shall wait and see
